Company Profile

Motipark Automotive Storage is a premium rail loading, automotive storage and shipping facility centrally positioned in Windsor, ON. Rail served by our sister company, The Essex Terminal Railway which connects to CN Rail, CP Rail, and CSX, Motipark is strategically located to assembly plants and vital transportation arteries, such as the busiest international border crossing in North America, directly across from Detroit, Michigan and the 400 series highways enabling our customers can reach the rail networks of Canada, United States and Mexico.

Motipark’s facility capacity for 6,000 vehicles, with on-site repair facility with 8 hoists and 13 bays, drive-away, truck and rail loading, based on destination while operating as a flexible (aka flex) facility to maximize shipping capacity makes this the ideal short and long-term storage of vehicles waiting to move along the supply chain. Twenty-four-hour security guards and CCTV monitoring within our fully fenced, well lit facility adds a level of confidence of vehicle safety.

Our experienced and knowledgeable team accurately tracks vehicles with customized Vehicle Inventory Management System (VIMS) throughout the storage and shipping process, enabling pinpoint accuracy tracing vehicles within the facility. This system provides our customer with real-time reporting and vehicle status streamlining supply chain and logistics.

Efficiency, innovation and safety are paramount to meet our customers ever-changing needs. Motipark staff is AAR certified and follow 6S (5s+Safety) methodology. Experience and training in rail loading, vehicle handling and custom software along with building strong relationships with customers, carriers and service providers elevates the team to provide excellence in all aspects of the flexible daily operations and services to our customer.

OUR SERVICES

Our History

In January of 2018, ETR/EMH Holdings purchased the barren brownfield property once occupied by the General Motors Transmission plant on the doorstep of ETR’s main terminal at 1601 Lincoln Road in Windsor.

Subsequently, ETR purchased two other small parcels and transformed the 46-acre brownfield into a huge parking lot, dubbed Motipark Automotive Storage. Most of the cars are Pacificas and Grand Caravans from the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) assembly plant, less than a kilometre away. Tony De Thomasis approached close neighbour Fiat Chrysler with the proposition of storing its products on the former GM property. FCA ultimately decided to move its distribution centre, adjacent to Home Depot on Provincial Road, to the infinitely more convenient locale.
